On the afternoon of August 31, Changzhou Municipal People’s Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Eastern Airlines to enhance cooperation and jointly promote the high-quality development of Changzhou's civil aviation industry. Party Secretary Wang Quan, Mayor Ding Chun, and Ma Xulun, General Manager of China Eastern Airlines, witnessed the signing.

According to the agreement, China Eastern Airlines will increase its capacity to open more routes for Changzhou, continuously optimize and improve the network layout of Changzhou Airport, accelerate the localization process of its Changzhou base, and grow the base bigger and stronger.

In his speech, Wang Quan said that at present, Changzhou is committed to creating three high-quality "star city" business cards, namely an industrial star city, a tourist star city and a management star city, in order to shape the city's hard power and soft power. Changzhou International Airport is an window for displaying the city’s business cards. Accelerating the development of civil aviation industry is a key work of Changzhou, which will become a new growth point for our social and economic development. He said that in recent years, the passenger throughput of Changzhou International Airport has increased steadily, which is inseparable from the support given by China Eastern Airlines. He hoped that China Eastern Airlines will continue to support the development of Changzhou International Airport as always.

Ding Chun introduced the economic and social development of Changzhou. He said that the Municipal Government will further optimize government services and fully support China Eastern Airlines’ construction of its Changzhou base.

Ma Xulun was grateful to the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government for their support in the development of civil aviation. In the future, China Eastern Airlines will increase the investment in Changzhou, accelerate the integration of Shanghai and Changzhou's aviation market, and enhance the construction of China Eastern Airlines’ Changzhou base to promote the development of civil aviation industry.
