Changzhou and Netanya become Friendship Cities

On April 24th, Changzhou and Netanya officially established a Friendship City relationship.

Netanya, located in central Israel, has a thriving economy that centers around the science and technology industry, specifically in the fields of medical care, tourism, and diamond craftsmanship.

During the signing ceremony, Sheng Lei, the mayor of Changzhou, emphasized that "true friendship defies distance." She also noted that since 2016, Changzhou and Netanya have initiated exchanges through economic and trade means, with an intention to become friendship cities through mutual visits in 2018. The two cities have worked closely together, especially during the COVID-19 epidemic, to fight the pandemic and reinforce their profound friendship of mutual aid and support. The signing of the Friendship City Agreement marks a new level of cooperation between the two cities, with the hope of further strengthening people-to-people exchanges, tapping into potential cooperation, and jointly creating a win-win situation in various fields, including the economy, technology, culture, and tourism, with the help of the Friendship City bond.

Miriam Fierberg-Ikar, the mayor of Netanya, expressed her delight in establishing a Friendship City relationship with Changzhou. She stated that Changzhou has vast potential for cooperation in tourism and high-tech industries. Both cities share a long-standing friendship, and standing at a new starting point, she hopes that the two sides can further strengthen mutual visits and exchanges, continuously explore new areas of cooperation, and deepen the good cooperation relationship of mutual benefit and win-win results.
