V. Domestic Trade

The local consumption continued to grow. In 2016, the total retail sales of consumer goods grew by 10.7% to 220.28 billion RMB. Grouped by consumption patterns, sales volume for the wholesale, retail, catering and hotel businesses reached 27.83 billion, 173.77 billion, 16.96 billion and 1.72 billion RMB respectively, up by 15.9%, 9.6%, 13.2% and 16% respectively. Areawise, sales volume in urban areas grew by 10.7% to 206.01 billion RMB and that in rural areas increased by 10.3% to 14.27 billion RMB.
