On March 31, the 2018 Changzhou Rural Tourism Festival & Romantic Wujin Tourism Festival, co-sponsored by Changzhou Municipal Tourism Bureau and Wujin District Tourism Bureau, were opened in Jiangsu Xi Le Wan Eco-agricultural Demonstration Park. Fang Guoqiang, vice mayor of Changzhou, and Xu Zhiguo, deputy chief of Wujin District, attended the opening ceremony.

The annual Romantic Wujin Tourism Festival has been hosted for 12 consecutive years. In 2017, the district received more than 18 million domestic and foreign tourists, and achieved an added value of 11 billion yuan in tourism, which accounted for 4.9% of the local GDP. At present, the ‘ancient, modern and ecological’ tourism pattern has been formed in Wujin, while the new forms of rural tourism, agricultural tourism and industrial tourism are emerging. Wujin has become a rising tourist destination in the Yangtze River Delta.

This year’s tourism festival will carry out activities like the Songjian Lake Invitational Kitesurfing Tournament, the Yancheng Coming of Age Ceremony, the Peach Blossom Festival, and so on.

At the opening ceremony, six local schools jointly established an educational practice base in Jiangsu Xi Le Wan Eco-agricultural Demonstration Park, and the park was awarded as a provincial four-star rural tourist spot.
