Ding Chun meets with Mexican delegation

Mayor Ding Chun met with Jaime Guerra, director of the Economic Development Department of Coahuila, Mexico, in Wujin on the afternoon of May 17.

Ding Chun welcomed the arrival of Jaime Guerra and his delegation and introduced the economic and social development of Changzhou. He said that since Changzhou and Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico entered into a sister-city relationship in November 2013, the two sides have carried out exchanges on economy, trade, culture and education over the years. In recent years, Changzhou has seen an increase in trade volume with Mexico. He hoped that the two sides would strengthen exchanges in various fields and looked forward to more economic and trade cooperation.

Jaime Guerra said that he was very happy to attend the opening ceremony of the “5·18 Exhibition” held in Changzhou. In recent years, the state of Coahuila has developed rapidly in the industries of automobiles, metal machinery, aviation and renewable energy. Last year, it attracted more than 2 billion US dollars in foreign investment projects. He hoped that both sides would further strengthen mutual communication, deepen friendship and achieve win-win cooperation.

Coahuila is one of the most competitive states in Mexico, with 68 industrial parks, rich mineral resources and quality education. In October last year, Changzhou and Saltillo, Coahuila signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of friendly exchanges between the two cities.
